Chico Hamilton's first quintet record for Pacific Jazz changed my life--irrevocably for the better. A lot of that transformation was due to Fred Katz. Hearing this magnificent performance of "Stella by Starlight" made me even more thankful for all the years this cellist-composer-arranger has been part of my life. Thanks.
